I have been a researcher at the CNR, affiliated with the ISTC Laboratory for Applied Ontology (LOA), since October 2020. I previously had research positions at the Institute for Formal Ontology and Medical Information Science (Saarland University, Germany; 2011-2013), at the CNRS Laboratory of Digital Sciences of Nantes (France; 2017-2018), and at the Le Studium Loire Valley Institute for Advanced Studies (France 2019-2020).I have a background in philosophy (both B.A. (2010) and M.A. (2012) from the University of Catania, Italy) and a PhD in Computer Science (2017, University of Trento, Italy). My research focuses on applied ontology, primarily delving into foundational and methodological aspects related to the use of conceptual models and ontologies. The research areas where I’m mostly active are product design, manufacturing, and digital humanities. Regarding the latter, my particular interests lie in literature, literary studies, music, and musicology.I’m also interested in philosophical ontology, logic, and process modeling. So far I have invested my spare time in reading books, learning foreign languages (English, French, Spanish, and German), swimming, biking, trekking, climbing, and hanging out with friends (and other forms of life).
